Class Leader FRequently Asked Questions
Questions Before the Class Starts
How does ordering the materials work?
We have found that the best method of ordering Class Participant kits is for the church or lead organization to pay for the materials for each of the class members ahead of time and be reimbursed once people sign up.
You will want to get a good idea of how many people are interested in the class before ordering.

Does someone have to pay for the class? Can’t we just pay for their materials?
We highly encourage every person attending the class to pay for the material themselves. Through the years we have found that if someone does not invest something into the class, they are less likely to fully buy-in to the entire process.

Can people make payments or installments for the class?
Yes! We want to make sure that this class is affordable for everyone! We have found that if people say that they cannot afford the class, then they will say that they can afford $5 per week.

What is the best way to handle registrations for the class?
There is not just one best way to register people for a class. We have found that you have to use every method possible - emailing the class leader, calling the class leader, signing up online, or signing up in a table in the lobby. Many times people will wait until the last week to register for the class, therefore we encourage you to set a last registration date that is 2 weeks before the class start date in order to ensure that you have an adequate number of Participant's Kits.

Is it okay if we do a sermon series about finances before the class starts?
Yes! We have found that this is the best way to peak people's interest in being in a REALIGN Class. We recommend doing a 3-part sermon series: Live Simply, Work Diligently, and Give Generously. See our Promote page for an example of three sermons that one church did.

Questions Once the Class Begins
How big are the small groups normally?
We like to keep them fairly small - from 6 to 8 people or 3 to 4 couples per small group. We want to make sure that everyone has a chance to talk.

Someone in my class has a very challenging situation or they have a question I can't answer, what should I do.
Remember, you do not have to have the answers to everyone's questions. If you don't know the answer to a question, simply contact our team by filling out the form below and we can help you. How long is each class?
The classes are designed to be exactly 90 minutes in length. We have found that this is the average length of Sunday school classes and small groups.
In the Class Leaders Guide we have outlined each class which has four main sections: Connection Time, Video Lessons, Discussion, Class Work.
If you need to condense the class, we ask that you still make sure that you create a space for each of the four main sections of the class.

Can the class be done in a longer or shorter amount of time.
Yes. If you need to condense the class, we ask that you still make sure that you create a space for each of the four main sections of the class. If you need to expand the class, this can be done by expanding the Discussion or Class Work time.

In each lesson, what are we supposed to do with the video notes?
The video notes follow the video script for the most part, however there are parts where the teachings are expanded. We did this so that people can go back during the week and review the class notes if they would like to. For the most part when people are going through the class, they will need to watch the video and if they have a thought or idea they can write that out on the sides of the page.
Each week we ask each participant to review the notes from that lesson, and we are talking about the Video Notes.

There seems to be a lot of forms in week 1. Is that how the entire class will be?
With all of these forms, we are not trying to give people more things to do. The first week is the most “form-heavy” but that is because they are just getting started and we want to make sure that they have all the information and access that they need.

Must each class participant register on Realign web site?
Yes. This is both for their benefit and ours. It allows them access to online forms, frequently asked questions, and in the very near future an online community. It also allows our team to understand who our class participants are across the world and how to better serve them.
